2009 Mini-Sessions

Hello friends of Schell Photography,
I know it’s only September, but it’s time to start thinking about family portraits for the holidays! Due to the popularity of my Mini-Sessions last year, I am bringing them back this year and want to give you plenty of notice to get a reservation on your calendar! I have put together 2 times for sessions this year. Included in each mini-session will be a 20 minute photo shoot and a CD with all of the images from the shoot that you may use to print without copyright restriction for things such as Christmas & Holiday cards. The fee for this session will be $125 (a regular session is $275) and it is for up to 8 people. For more than 8, it is $5 more per person.
The following dates, locations and times are available:

Saturday Morning, November 7th – Coronado Shores:
8:30
8:50
9:10
9:30
9:40

Saturday Afternoon/Evening, November 14th – Windansea (near La Jolla Cove)
3:00
3:20
3:40
4:00
4:20

I will fill these slots on a first-come, first-serve basis, so respond early to get your first choice.
I will send additional information regarding where to meet, etc. to those that are scheduled the week before your shoot.

If you have a large group that requires more than 20 minutes or are interested in a lengthier shoot for your family, contact me about a regular session ($85 sitting fee, $275 for the All-Inclusive Package, which includes the sitting fee, the CD, and a proof of each image – lasts about 45 minutes).

3 Generations

Just before Christmas I did my first shoot at Carlsbad State Beach with a large family with 3 generations. It was very cold that day so folks were anxious to be able to put coats and shoes back on but everything still turned out nice.

Silent Auction Winners

Occasionally to support organizations I have a heart for, I will offer packages to be included in auctions. One of the families from Fuerte Elementary School won their package at the school's fall carnival and redeemed it this past winter. It was a unique shoot for me because we shot it at La Vida Real in Rancho San Diego, which is an upscale retirement community. The family had connections there and we were given permission to use the facility. It was actually a very beautiful setting and, aside from the damp air and ground, we had a fun shoot. Their little boy had a little red ball that he was very attached to so I asked if I could borrow it and keep it in my pocket. In between shots, I would show it to him and he thought it was really funny!

Mini-Session 2009

One of my mini-sessions last November was at Windansea and was a beautiful day. I had 4 families take advantage of the 20 minute session and we had a lot of fun.
Big sister helping little sister...so cute!
A sweet family

My second family was a large group so we had to work quick. We did individual shots of each family and then some of the whole group.
This was a fun bunch.

My next family is a family I have been taking pictures of for several years. Our first session was when their oldest son was still a toddler and Mom was just newly pregnant with the triplets. Now look at them.....
This is an awesome family
We had time for individuals of the kids as well.

My last family was having their first session with me since adopting their little baby girl. They got into the Christmas theme and looked great.

Mini-Sessions are a great value, so let me know if you'd like to be on the list to be notified when I do them again this fall (stacey@schellphotography.com)

Thank Heaven for Little Girls

This past weekend, we fought the crowds at Coronado Shores (in November!!) and had a fun shoot with a family that has one little adorable girl. She was so cooperative and seemed to really like her first excursion to the beach.
What a sweet girl

Great looking family
Who wouldn't love this face?

Another Frequent Family

Last weekend I got to do something a little different with another great family that I've shot for the past 3 years. This year we went to Harry Griffen Park and had a nice change of scene for the photos. With 2 boys, there's always a lot of energy and we had fun. Everyone managed to stay clean until we were done!

Watching Kids Grow

I did a mini-session shoot for one of my favorite families last weekend. They were some of my first clients when I started the business and have used me at least once every year since. It's been amazing to watch their children grow and we always have fun at the shoots. This year they included some grandparents. Here's a few pics from the shoot.
Still a cute couple
